Old Stage Riding Stables

Our Story

Who we are

Enjoy the Rocky Mountains on Horseback! We offer guided horseback rides up in the mountains through Pine forests, aspen groves, green meadows, and creeks. The Trabandt family started the Old Stage Riding Stables in 1993 and owns the land inside the Pike National Forest that the stables and some of the trails sit on. The Stables is run by oldest daughter Laurie and oldest granddaughter Jennifer. Of course, patriarch Hugh is a continuing presence, riding his horses and keeping himself busy up at the stables. Happily, all of the children and grandchildren are very much a part of what we do best: keeping horses healthy and content and giving our guests a memorable and rewarding experience.

Our wranglers will work hard in providing an action-packed cattle drive experience on the Elk Ranch.
