Durango Mountain Bike Tours

Our Story

Who we are

DMBT is led by John Robinette and Jim Mackay. We have lived in Durango for a combined 35 years. We are very proud of where we live and love to share our passion for mountain biking our amazing local trails. We are fully licensed, permitted, and insured. We give riding tips to those that want them, and we make every tour more fun by pointing out Durango’s points of interest and wildlife along the way. We would welcome the opportunity to earn your trust and deliver you the best service in the industry. Come let us show you “A True Colorado Experience,” and why Durango is THE mountain bike capital of the world!

Just a short ride south of Durango lies an amazing mix of terrain including one of the largest selections of slickrock in New Mexico.

You can find it all here – swooping flow trail, rim riding, slickrock sessioning, and tight turns among the pinons and junipers. Stronger riders can add the Outer limits loop for rocky climbs and plunging downhills.

Bike Magazine chose Alien Run to represent New Mexico in a March 2008 guide to the 50 states.

Some Adventure Options

Phil’s World

Less than an hour’s drive from Durango, Phil’s World offers 67 miles of high desert singletrack that is designed specifically for mountain bikes. The network of trails offers something for everyone, from the fast flowy sections of Lemon Head to the technical Ledges. And don’t forget Rib Cage for some swoopy fun that will make you feel like a kid again!

Phil’s World can be ridden when other trails are under snow or muddy. There are years when you can ride out there all winter.

The No-Brainer Weekend

Come and spend a mountain bike weekend in Durango with us – without all the hassles of planning where to stay, where to ride, what to eat.

Let us arrange transportation from the airport, a place to stay, your bike rental, and most importantly where to ride your bike!

If you fly into Durango, we will pick you up and get you back to the airport. We have some great choices for sleeping at our partner hotels as well as private residences where you can feel right at home. We can customize a ride or two for you, showing you the best stashes in our hundreds of miles of trails around the area. We will either bring a tasty lunch with us, or time the ride to stop and eat at one of our great restaurants. We can time your trip around any of the great weekend events going on all summer, or plan to get out of town and enjoy the mountains in solitude.

Leave it to us. We know Durango. It’s a no brainer.
