Our Story

Who we are

Canyoning Colorado launched in March 2016; we are an outdoor activity operator that solely focuses on canyoning / canyoneering. We are passionate about canyoning and everything we do encourages safe exploration in a natural environment. Canyoning Colorado works hard to educate its customers to international standards while delivering a fun and exhilarating experience for all. Canyoning is a sport that requires you to immerse yourself in a natural environment, and most importantly the present moment. Every challenge has the ability to arise in the canyon; from physical to mental – we work with you through your fears and excitement as you push your limits in a canyon suited to your ability and skill level. Canyoning Colorado are industry professionals and we invite you to join the adventure.”

Time to step it up in Oak Creek. You’ll need a high-level of fitness to tackle the multiple waterfalls in Oak, and your adrenaline will get going at the top of a 130-foot drop. This is the perfect introduction to Ouray’s Intermediate canyons, suitable for individuals that have been canyoning /canyoneering before or those with relevant outdoor experience (climbers, paddlers welcome).

Weehawken Creek is Canyoning Colorado’s most technically challenging canyon. The trip begins with a stunning 1600ft climb along an established trail to the top of the canyon.
Once in the canyon, the descent is probably the wettest of all our tours because you’ll be in the flow on almost every rappel! Don’t underestimate the power of the water here; impeccable rappelling technique is an absolutely must.

Angel Creek is a spectacular canyon with waterfalls and rappels to experience. The biggest is 35 feet, so this is the perfect canyon to ease yourself or your family into! We’ll show you the ropes and you’ll be exploring an area in Ouray few people get to see. The half day trip starts at 8:30am or 1:30pm.

The adventurous half-day trip! Explore Portland Creek’s towering limestone walls, and rappel up to 60-feet through waterfalls. Our favorite will be your favorite.

This canyon is the ideal environment for a half day canyoning trip; it is a short 15-minute walk to the start of the canyon from the parking lot. The first half of the canyon will greet you with stunning limestone walls that rise 20 feet above you. We will warm you up with some downclimbing, scrambling, and a practice rappel.
