Who we are

“Welcome to Browns Canyon Rafting! We are a personable, guide owned and operated company focused on giving our guests the best experience possible with fun, safety, and quality being our top priorities. Our professionally trained and knowledgeable guide staff make all the difference here at Browns Canyon Rafting; their dedication to detail and especially to your safety will give you an individualized Colorado white water rafting experience you won’t find anywhere else. Our company offers a wide variety of activities including guided whitewater rafting trips, whitewater ducky (inflatable kayak) trips, scenic float trips, hard shell whitewater kayak lessons and equipment rentals. Although our real passion is in whitewater, we partner with other local businesses to provide our guests with other outdoor activity options such as Zip Lining, Horseback Riding, Mountain Biking, ATV rentals, Scenic Train Rides and the Natural Mineral Hot Spring. Our main outpost is located in the heart of the Rocky Mountains in the historic town of Buena Vista, Colorado where we operate on all sections of the Arkansas River. Sections such as Browns Canyon National Monument, The Numbers, Pine Creek and The Narrows. Our second location in Idaho Springs is just minutes west of Denver, and operates on Clear Creek and surrounding areas.”

Soar through the top of the rockies on 6 ZIP LINE SECTIONS, all with DOUBLE CABLES for safety; OVER 8,000’ feet of zip lines. After check-in at the Base Camp at our partners 2,500 acre Private Preserve, board the 6 ton MONSTER TRUCK, a comfortable 4-wheel drive van, or drive a Polaris ATV up through the forest to the first zip line departure deck at 11,200 feet. The shuttle vehicle used will depend upon trail conditions and number of guests booked for the tour time.

Enjoy spectacular panoramic views of Mt. Elbert and Mt. Massive, two of the tallest peaks in North America from the deck of a Yurt. See some of the old historic patented gold mines on the property as well as possible wildlife sightings.

Browns Canyon National Monument Half Day Rafting Trip

Raft through Browns Canyon National Monument on the Arkansas River. Our half day Browns Canyon rafting trip takes you down approximately 10 miles of the exciting and beautiful Arkansas River. This Colorado white water rafting trip is appropriate for most ages and abilities. There are plenty of fun class II-III+ rapids and majestic views of the beautiful granite canyon. Whether you’re a first time rafter, an experienced paddler or a family looking for some excitement, Browns Canyon is the place for you!

Expect to get wet on this adventure as a member of our highly trained and certified staff guide you through this fun stretch of river. This 3+ hour trip offers incredibly scenic views of the Collegiate Peaks, an abundance of protected wildlife, and crystal clear Rocky Mountain white water. Between rapids, you’ll have time to relax and catch your breath as you get to know your guide and learn more about the majestic views all around you.

Two Hour Adventure Ride

The two hour ride is excellent for families and those who want to see a little more of Beautiful Colorado. This ride follows a portion of Chalk Creek. Ride along a portion of the old narrow gauge railroad bed that went to St. Elmo around the turn of the century. We ride down to and across Chalk Creek while enjoying breathtaking views of Harvard, Yale, and the base of Mt. Antero.
